People line up for gas masks at a gas mask distribution point in Tel Aviv, Israel, on August 28.
The number of people receiving gas masks in Israel has increased sharply because of concerns that Syria may launch chemical weapons attacks on Israel. Israel's number of people applying for gas masks has increased by 300% since the 25th, a spokesman for the Israeli postal system, which is responsible for distributing gas masks to Israeli citizens free of charge, said on the 27th.
